Deer Habitat Management

Quail Habitat
Management:
Wanting to create optimal habitat conditions for America’s favorite gamebird?
We can help by establishing a variety of quail habitat types and by
structuring a dynamic management plan tailored for your property. Bobwhite
Quail Habitat requires that the birds be able to use every square foot of
your property. HFC can accomplish this by providing the following services:
- Strip Disking
- Grain plot establishment
- Warm and cool season grass establishment
- Edge feathering and creation
- Shrub planting
- Control burns for site prep and maintenance
- Herbicide application for grass control
Turkey Habitat Management:
Turkey and deer habitats are similar however there are certain hard and soft mast producing tree species which are highly desired by the Eastern Wild Turkey. Haubry Forestry Consulting can assist you with identifying those species and implement a plan to help maximize production of those masts in order to optimize your turkey habitat. Services include:
- Clover and legume plot management
- Nesting area creation
- Timber management for mast producing and roosting trees
Grouse Habitat Management:
Though Ruffed Grouse populations are very low and birds are scarce, areas of
known grouse populations can still be managed in order to provide some
habitat for this amazing woodland game bird. Ruffed Grouse require early
successional habitat types or berry producing forest thickets. These can
only be created through active timber management. We can help you establish
these habitat types on your property by providing the following services:
- Timber management of forest openings
- Pine shrub plantings
- Edge and corridor creation
